Overview

  • Quick read monitoring at the device of particulate levels, alarm levels, fault conditions, air flow, etc.

Password Protected Operator Buttons

  • Once activated in software, three function buttons are used for control
  • RESET can be activated from the front of the detector display
  • TEST mode allows periodic detector and relay testing
  • The ISOLATE mode, when active, removes the unit from service for up to 60 minutes (a fault is generated)

Air Flow Pendulum

  • 10 green LED segments indicate current flow's proximity to high or low air flow thresholds
  • During normal operation, two adjacent indicators shall be green and correspond to the current airflow entering the detector
  • When airflow is at a balanced level, the two green segments shall be centered on the pendulum
  • As airflow rises and falls, the green segments correspondingly move right and left

Particulate Detection

  • Amber particulate Levels 1 to 10
  • Indicates buildup of non-fire aerosolized particulates
  • Each level represents a 10% increase in the particulate level

Configurable Alarm Levels

  • 5 red pre-set alarm levels
  • Alarm levels can be customized with PipeIQ software
  • Eight form C relay outputs can be programmed for either latching or non-latching operation
  • Relays have a programmable delay from 0 to 60 seconds
  • Upon alarm level operation, the associated LED illuminates and the relay activates

Fault Indications

  • If a fault is activated on the device, the corresponding LEDs will illuminate in amber and an additional FAULT LED shall be triggered to signal a fault has been generated
  • All 10 faults are indicated on the User Interface

Minor, Urgent, and Isolate faults 1

  • Minor: 20% Increase / Decrease in air flow (Minor fault relay activates)
  • Urgent: 50% Increase / Decrease in air flow (Urgent fault relay activates)

  • Urgent: improper particulate sensor operation (Urgent fault relay activates)

  • Urgent: device fails to communicate (Urgent fault relay activates)

  • Minor: Filter requires attention (Minor fault relay activates)
  • Urgent: After 72h if no attention to Filter (Urgent fault relay activates)

Fault

Whenever a fault occurs, the general FAULT indicator illuminates amber and the flow status bar oscillates between flow status (green) and a detailed fault status (amber).

Normal

In Normal operating mode, the FAAST system displays the air flow and current particulate levels on the user interface.

Test

  • Initiated through the PipeIQ Live View tab or the TEST button
  • Simulates a fire condition, activating all Particulate and Alarm levels
  • Each corresponding alarm relay is also activated
  • Pressing RESET button removes the device from TEST mode
  • When RESET is activated, all relays are reset

Isolate

  • When the ISOLATE button is activated, FAAST sets the isolation relay and the ISOLATE fault illuminates
  • In this mode, the device does not report any alarm or fault levels or activate any relays
  • This mode is active until the 60 minute Isolation Timer expires or RESET is selected (Isolation relay active during isolation time)

Password Access

Press and hold RESET button for 8 seconds to enter password mode:

  • First segment on the flow indicator illuminates yellow, then green
  • Release the RESET button
  • First segment on the airflow display blinks green, indicating the device is ready to accept the first digit
  • User interface can require a password (4 digits using integers1-9)
  • Update passwords using PipeIQ
  • Customize button lockouts
  • TEST button enters digits
  • ISOLATE button increments the current digit, which is indicated on the particulate scale

Reset

  • Reset the detector for fault and fire conditions
